Voice Conservatory Teacher (Contract)

Job Description

Young Actors Theater Academy is seeking a skilled, collaborative, and student-centered Voice Conservatory Teacher to lead vocal instruction for our daytime conservatory program. This is a contract-based teaching role focused on developing vocal technique, musicality, confidence, and healthy singing habits in students across a range of experience levels.

The Voice Conservatory Teacher provides structured vocal instruction, supports healthy technique, and helps students build confidence in performance. This role requires a teacher who can create a supportive, educational environment while delivering high-quality vocal training.

This position is contracted per conservatory session and compensated via flat fee.

Responsibilities

Vocal Instruction

  • Teach vocal technique, breath support, tone production, diction, and musicality
  • Lead warm-ups, exercises, and structured vocal development
  • Provide individualized and ensemble-based feedback
  • Support healthy vocal habits and safe singing practices

Classroom Leadership

  • Maintain organized lesson plans
  • Create a positive, structured, and educational environment
  • Adapt instruction for beginner-to-advanced students
  • Encourage confidence, expression, and artistic growth

Collaboration

  • Coordinate with YATA leadership on curriculum alignment
  • Communicate clearly regarding student progress and needs

Student Support

  • Provide age-appropriate feedback
